"Tokyo, December 1982. Kiyoaki Iwamoto’s drool-worthy 10" of DIY post-punk, including a Japanese-language take on Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’, finally resurfaces after its initial lightning strike.
Cut with little more than guitar, bass and a primitive rhythm box, the EP documents a brief, intense moment in Japan’s early-’80s underground. Sputtering, Suicide-adjacent minimalism sits alongside bleak lo-fi punk and stripped-back industrial rock ’n’ roll - all wiry guitars, frayed electronics and end-of-the-rope vocals.
A small but lethal document of isolation, irritation and resignation - pressed in tiny numbers, long out of reach, and now reactivated with a Chisako & Junta rework."
